Bruja

“Bruja” was inspired by a Colombian actress, Angely Gaviria portraying the role of a teenage “Witch.” This sparked my curiosity about the concept of witchcraft. Traditionally associated with evil green women possessing magical powers, I wanted to challenge this perception and celebrate the inner power that makes us all potential “Brujas.”

In this painting, a flower partially obscures her face, inviting viewers to look deeper and see beyond surface appearances. Her expressive eyes and curly hair reveal a woman who is far more complex and powerful than any simple label or expectation.

Through “Bruja,” my aim to inspire others to question their assumptions and recognize the magical potential within themselves.
